Hairball at Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, Nebraska on September 12, 2025.

This was not my first rodeo with the guys in Hairball. But I was still pretty excited to get the chance to cover them again and re-live some of my favorite hair metal moments throughout the night. One thing that I forgot about with these guys is that they have such a strong following. People show up in droves not just in costume, but they come ready to sing their hearts out. Word for word…all night long. It is awesome to watch and hear. And let me say this, there may be crowds other places as good as Grand Island, but I can confidently say- there are none better. Grand Island, Nebraska loves Hairball.

With the climate of our nation right now, this is one of those nights where you can leave all that behind and just come out all dressed up, enjoy the music, sing the songs, and drink the beer. That is what a Hairball show is all about. And, let’s not forget about all the pyro. If you love fire, then get your butt to a Hairball show. They spare no expense when it comes to burning the stage up.
Hairball is currently on their 25th Anniversary tour, or as they are referring to it as the XXV Silver Anniversary Tour. Which means these guys have been doing this for a while now. They have built up quite the following and seem to tour non-stop. Which means, if you have not seen them yet, then there is no excuse. They will be in your town or somewhere close very soon. If you love Motley Crue, Kiss, Guns and Roses, Journey…and the list goes on, then you will love a Hairball show. My hope these guys will continue of for another 25 years. They have become a mainstay on the touring circuit. No pretentious egos. Just the best rock and roll music and a lot of fun. You can tell by watching these guys they are enjoying themselves each night. All smiles and fun. You owe it to yourself to see these guys at least once. Your only expectation is to show up and have a good time. You won’t be disappointed.
